The BCS ranking system is an absolute joke. Nebraska had no business playing in that game. Troy State played a better game against Miami. This system is probably worse than no system. At least the bowls may have been able to put together a better matchup choosing by the old format.
Congratulations to the Hurricanes. As they celebrate, they need to thank the Big East for being weak and the BCS for giving them an easy opponent to end the season.

In last week's forum, there was a letter from Michael Drapkin regarding Florida's Steve Spurrier that attempted to discredit this fine coach. I am a bit unclear as to Drapkin's motivation. He obviously is a Miami fan, whom the Gators did not play this season. Why is he concerned with insulting Spurrier? Even more unacceptable is that in his attempt to criticize Spurrier, he used questionable information. Drapkin says Spurrier is "nationally disliked" and he is "trying to cover up the fact he couldn't produce a national championship contender" by involving himself in the Earnest Graham/Darnell Dockett matter.
How is Spurrier "nationally disliked?" I have seen no evidence to support this wild accusation. I have heard criticism, but no more than criticisms of other coaches, including Bobby Bowden. How are you able to read Spurrier's regarding the Dockett matter? This is nothing more than a coach supporting his player, and he has a right to be concerned.

Can Michael Drapkin find any coaches of these "below-average SEC teams" who bemoan that Spurrier ran up the score? They all say they got beat by a great team. At what point is it okay to stop playing when you are ahead? Spurrier and Graham complained of Dockett's on-the-field actions before losing to Tennessee. They weren't trying to divert attention before. And two Mr. Football running backs in the past five years is recruiting poorly? (Graham and Willie Green). The Gators could go 13-0 or 0-11, we would still fill our stadium and cheer. I almost feel sorry for the Hurricane players: ranked No. 1 in the country, playing in front of 40,000 people at their own house.
