Doctors at Yale University believe that a brain abscess in a woman in her 20s was caused by an infection she suffered after having her tongue pierced. Dr. Richard Martinello said he believed the patient, who has recovered, stopped wearing tongue jewelry. "The last time we talked," he said, "she was pretty much against it."
