A Hollywood family film
Orange County (PG-13; drugs, language, sexuality) This comedy, screened too late for Weekend, provides a roster of established stars and gives moviegoers a chance to find out what the offspring of various other Hollywood stars are doing. Jake Kasdan (son of Lawrence) directs Colin Hanks (son of Tom) in the tale of Shawn, a nerdy kid with a deeply dysfunctional family featuring drug addict big brother Lance (Jack Black) and an alcoholic mother (Catherine O'Hara). Lance, Shawn and Shawn's girlfriend, Ashley (Schuyler Fisk, daughter of Sissy Spacek), team up to fix an academic mixup that threatens Shawn's college future. Also stars Lily Tomlin, John Lithgow, Chevy Chase, Kevin Kline and Harold Ramis, who apparently don't have children in the business.
