Report: Man carrying weapon resisted arrestSAN ANTONIO -- Sheriff's deputies on Wednesday arrested a man they say resisted arrest and struck a deputy. Wiley John Pritchard, 51, of 3010 Prospect Road, was walking along Curley Road about 11:15 a.m., carrying what deputies said appeared to be a rifle. Pritchard refused to stop and release the weapon when a deputy requested him to do so, a report stated. He then swung the weapon at one deputy like a baseball bat and continued to fight until other units arrived to help subdue him, according to reports. The deputy suffered a small cut on his right thumb during the incident. Pritchard faces charges of battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence. He was taken to the Land O'Lakes jail, where he remained Thursday in lieu of $15,000 bail.
