The Friends of the Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge Complex was formed three years ago to help raise funds to support environmental education, volunteer programs and other public outreach activities at the Chassahowitzka and Crystal River national wildlife refuges.

The funding activities include management of the Visitor Center bookstore, corporate and foundation grant proposal writing, and individual donations. In particular, membership dues are a significant part of the Friends' budget, and dues range from $15 for an individual membership to $1,000 to be a patron.

For information, contact the Friends of the Chassahowitzka National Wildlife Refuge Complex, 1502 SE Kings Bay Drive, Crystal River, FL 34429 or call (352) 563-2088.
