Pitt, Aniston settle suit over wedding rings

Pitt, Aniston settle suit over wedding rings

Hollywood couple Brad Pitt and Jennifer Aniston have settled their lawsuit against an Italian jewelry designer they had accused of breaking an agreement to never replicate their wedding rings.

Cindy Guagenti, a publicist for Pitt, said Saturday the couple settled the $50-million suit filed in July against Silvia Damiani and Damiani International, claiming the jeweler reproduced and sold rings designed by Pitt. Damiani was selling the rings over the Internet and at several jewelry stores.

"The legal proceedings between Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston and Damiani have been amicably resolved and were the result of an unfortunate misunderstanding," Damiani International said in a prepared statement.

Under the agreement, Pitt, 38, who most recently starred in Ocean's Eleven, will design an exclusive jewelry collection for Silvia Damiani.

Aniston, 32, who stars in TV's Friends, will appear in Damiani ads that will run in a number of countries outside North America.
