FSU's schedule next season is unusual in more ways than its unprecedented length, 13 regular-season games.
The Seminoles will begin the season against Iowa State in the Eddie Robinson Classic at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo., on Aug.24, their earliest opener.
They also will play twice on Thursday, at Louisville on Sept.26 and against Clemson on Oct.3. Notre Dame comes to town for the first time on Oct.26. (The 1994 game was in Orlando.)
FSU ends the season, as usual, against archrival Florida in Tallahassee. But the game has been moved to the weekend after Thanksgiving.
Season- and single-game tickets are available through the athletic department's Web site, www.seminoles.com. Season-ticket renewal forms will be mailed next month. Phone orders currently are not being accepted.
SEMINOLE SURGERY: FSU sophomore defensive tackle Darnell Dockett, who injured his left knee in the final minute of the Gator Bowl, had diagnostic arthroscopic surgery, which revealed no major ligament damage.
Dockett won't need more surgery and will begin rehabilitation immediately. He will miss the offseason conditioning program, which begins Feb.7, as well as spring practice.
KANSAS: Running back Reggie Duncan failed to show for a court hearing concerning a shoplifting charge in Lawrence, and an arrest warrant was issued. Prosecutor Jerry Little said there might have been a miscommunication between Duncan and his lawyer.
NORTH CAROLINA: Hal Hunter was named offensive line coach. He was Indiana's offensive coordinator for the past two seasons.
TENNESSEE: Phillip Fulmer became the highest-paid coach in the SEC, agreeing to an extension at $1.65-million a year. He receives a $350,000 raise and a one-year extension to 2008 under a package that puts him ahead of the $1.6-million LSU will pay Nick Saban.
