Editor: I want to take a moment to tell you of God's provision to Christian Social Services and those that we serve.
We provided Thanksgiving baskets to 167 families. Christmas baskets went out to 275 families. I would love to have seen the smiles on the faces of the 651 children that were blessed with an abundance of toys Christmas morning. Bibles, cookies, punch, hugs and the love of Jesus Christ were passed out to these families.
Thank you for your donations of toys, money, food and your time. Without your help those hundreds of families would have had little to celebrate.
Please keep us (and them) in your prayers and on your gifts list throughout the year. We do not close up shop when the Christmas season ends. We are here day after day serving the least, the last and the lost as Jesus commands us.
God bless you for standing with us. Without your help Christian Social Services would not be.
Editor: We came to our New Port Richey home on the afternoon of Christmas Eve and found, for the second consecutive year, brown paper bags with candles and sand on our doorstep. At dusk, we and our neighbors lit the candles and placed them along our seawall on the Cotee River. The whole river below the Main Street Bridge was illuminated!
This delightful tribute to the holiday season was provided by one of our New Port Richey neighbors -- Evelyn Hayes. We thank her for her thoughtfulness and generosity and for including us half-time residents from Canada in this grand little community seasonal celebration.
Her gesture of hospitality and friendship symbolizes for us the finest traits of the American people, whom we Canadians recognize and salute as our best friends and neighbors.
Editor: We would like to extend a very big thank you to Mr. John Timpanelli and his friends for the wonderful performances they gave here at Chasco Elementary. Mr. Timpanelli donated proceeds from an evening variety show he gave at our school for the community. He also came with his friends and performed for the primary students at our school along with his special guest, Santa Claus.
We really appreciate all his help and fundraising efforts. The money will be put to good use to supplement activities and materials for our students.
