Team X-Treme karate experts win state awards

Members of Team X-Treme, a youth karate competition group based in Seminole, won awards at the Florida League of Martial Arts banquet held Jan. 12 in Seminole.

State champions from the group are Kyle Hoffman, advanced boys sparring ages 14-15, and Jordan Murphy, intermediate girls sparring ages 10-11.

Other award winners include Brian Crowningshield, fourth place, black belt forms ages 13-14; Jacob Davis, fourth place, advance forms ages 8-9, and fourth place, advance sparring ages 8-9; Shane Edwards, third place, advance forms ages 8-9; Katie Fannin, third place, advanced girls sparring ages 10-11; Kyle Hoffman, third place, black belt forms ages 13-14; Heather Korica, fourth place, advanced forms ages 12-13; Jordan Murphy, fourth place, intermediate forms ages 10-11; Jolaine Pedalino, second place, black belt forms ages 15-17; and Steven Seifert, second place, advanced forms ages 8-9, and third place, advanced boys sparring ages 8-9.

Team X-Treme meets at Jim Graden's CardioKarate in Seminole and is coached by Mario Feliciano. Assistant coaches are Kim Jones, David Bybee, Josh Lapham, Ryan Freudenthal and Jolaine Pedalino.
