BROOKSVILLE ELEMENTARY: The PTA will meet at 4 p.m. Monday in the media center.

CHOCACHATTI ELEMENTARY: The school advisory committee will meet at 6 p.m. Monday in the media center.

WEST HERNANDO MIDDLE SCHOOL: The school will hold its History Fair Jan. 28 through Feb. 1 in the media center. Student projects will be on display throughout the week.

BROOKSVILLE ELEMENTARY: The school will hold an FCAT parent workshop Monday from 6-7:30 p.m. Jennifer Walker from the Florida Partnership of Family Involvement will provide parents with strategies and ideas on how to better prepare their child for the upcoming tests. Those wishing to attend should pre-register through the school. Limited child care will be provided.

PINE GROVE ELEMENTARY: The school will hold an FCAT family workshop Jan. 31 beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the cafeteria.

ACTIVE PARENTING WORKSHOPS: The Exceptional Student Education program is sponsoring a series of parent workshops dealing with child behavior at locations throughout the county during the school year. The six-week sessions are free; however, those attending must register in advance due to seating limitations. For information, call Doris Gero at 797-7022.

NEWSMAKERS: Hernando Christian Academy student Patricia Gavin has been chosen to attend the Congressional Youth Leadership Council's Leadership Challenge program Feb. 5 through 10 in Washington D.C. She is one of 350 students from around the country chosen to participate in the annual conference in which teens can interact with government leaders.
