Toast the town
Experiment with vintages and varietals and sample the ancient alchemy of wine in a high-tech setting at Einstein on Wine in Tampa Saturday night. MOSI has one of the best selections of fine wines each year plus Gianpiero Ruggeri as coordinator.
Tickets are $50. Call (813) 987-6100 for information.
Extra serving
Nothing lazy about the Brown Dog Cafe. After settling into its new home (3451 Fourth St. N, 727-896-8822), the Dog adds a brunch eclectic. Huevos rancheros, veggie foo yung and salmon-broccoli crepes as well as eggs with sausage and biscuits served on Saturday and Sunday 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., $4.95 to $7.95.
I've had enough . . .
Dirty high chairs. Don't use 'em myself, but restaurants that provide baby seats and high chairs ought to give them a clean swipe with a disinfecting agent between uses. After all, their occupants are not known for table manners: They eat anything and usually from the table. Common sense and most health codes require it, but one new parent says many high chairs look like Baby's First Landfill. Keep 'em clean.
