LATIN DANCE: A Latin Dance Night will be at 8 p.m. Saturday at the Italian Social Club of Citrus County 1305 E Norvell Bryant Highway, Hernando. Music by Sir Dance-A-Lot and tickets are $8. Call 726-9095.

PLAYHOUSE 19: The Mystery of Edwin Drood has its final performance this weekend, with shows today, Saturday and Sunday at Playhouse 19 community theater, 865 U.S. 19 S, Crystal River. The audience participation play is about an incomplete novel written by Charles Dickens, who died before finishing the work. Box office hours are 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, or call 563-1333.

BE A TEACHER: The Inverness parks and recreation department is seeking people interested in becoming a contract instructor. Instructors are paid on a percentage fee based on the number of students who take the class. Positions are available to anyone with a talent or hobby that they can teach others. Classes take place in the Recreation Building at Whispering Pines Park. Call the park office at 726-3913.

PORTRAIT PAINTERS: The Citrus County Art League Portrait Painters meet every Friday from 9 a.m. to noon at the center, 2644 N Annapolis Ave., Hernando. A different model takes the stage each week. To join the portrait group or be a model for a session, call Pat at 527-3430.

WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP: The Citrus Watercolor Club has scheduled a weekend painting workshop with New England watercolor artist Paul George for Feb. 16 and 17 at the Recreation Building at Whispering Pines Park. George has studied at the Museum of Fine Arts School in Boston and is a student of national award-winning artist Don Stone. He is an active member of the New England Watercolor Society, Cap Cop, North Shore and the Rockport Art Associations and associate member of the American Watercolor Society. The class is limited to 22 artists. The cost is $90 for members and $100 for nonmembers. Registration is open now. BIG BAND: The 42nd Street Band will be the featured performers at the 16th annual Big Band Concert sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Homosassa Springs. Shows are at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Feb. 16 at Curtis Peterson Auditorium at Lecanto High. The concert will feature the music of Harry James and patriotic songs. Guest performers include trumpet player Bill White, a Louis Armstrong tribute artist, and singer Lisa Donovan, singing the hits of Judy Garland. Tickets are $12 in advance or $14 at the door. Tickets available at any Regions, Bank of America and SunTrust banks in Citrus County, or at the Citrus County Chamber of Commerce offices in Homosassa Springs, Crystal River and Inverness. McLEAN MUSIC: The Will McLean Music Festival will be March 9 and 10 at Sertoma Youth Ranch. The festival includes live folk music on three stages, workshops, poetry, storytelling and children's activities. Sertoma Youth Ranch is 7 miles west of Dade City and 1.5 miles east of I-75 exit 60. ALZHEIMER'S RALLY: The second annual Rock 'n' Roll Rally to Remember, sponsored by the Alzheimer Family Organization, will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Plantation Inn, U.S. 19 and Fort Island Trail, Crystal River. The event features people using rocking chairs to raise funds for local Alzheimer's patients.
