Das Puppenspiel Puppet Theater will use body puppets and larger-than-life bunraku puppetry, an ancient Japanese form of theater, to bring The Snow Queen to life at the Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center on Sunday.
The puppets are operated by two or three people onstage, dressed in black so that they "disappear" as the action unfolds. Characters in Hans Christian Andersen's classic story include Gerda, Kai, the Snow Queen and animals, including reindeer.
The show is recommended for ages 6 to adult and begins at 3 p.m. Tickets are $12 to $14 for adults and $10 for children. For information, call (727) 942-5605.
