JAZZ JAM: The Citrus Jazz Society will begin its monthly jam session at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Hampton Room of Andre's of Citrus Hills.

JAZZ JAM: The Citrus Jazz Society will begin its monthly jam session at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the Hampton Room of Andre's of Citrus Hills.

The featured guests will be Bill Barnes and the Dixieland Ramblers from Orlando. The group will add Dixieland jazz to the other jazz music played by the society's regular musicians.

Because of the added expense of this session, members will be charged $4 and nonmembers $7 at the door. Annual memberships are available at each session: $17 for individuals and $25 for a family.

The Jazz Society welcomes new performers. Interested musicians can call musical director Ken Lattin at 795-8983.

WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP: The Citrus Watercolor Club has scheduled a weekend painting workshop with New England watercolor artist Paul George for Feb. 16 and 17 at the Recreation Building at Whispering Pines Park.

The class is limited to 22 artists, and registration is now open. The cost is $90 for members and $100 for nonmembers. George has studied at the Museum of Fine Arts School in Boston and is a student of national award-winning artist Don Stone. He is an active member of the New England Watercolor Society, Cap Cop, North Shore and the Rockport Art Associations and is an associate member of the American Watercolor Society.

CARVING: The Nature Coast Carving Club will meet at 10 a.m. today at the Lakes Region Library, 1511 Druid Road, Inverness. Workshops are at 1 p.m. Monday at the East Citrus Community Center on State Road 44. Call 382-3957.

USO BENEFIT: The Citrus Sertoma Club will present "An Evening to Benefit the USO" from 5 to 8 p.m. Feb. 24 at Rock Crusher Canyon Garden Pavilion.

Entertainers will include bands and choirs from Crystal River and Lecanto High, the Amazing Elvis E., the Sonshine Quartet, DancEtc., Jackie Leonard and Sally Langlois.

Tickets for the concert, which also will include a buffet, are $20 in advance at Simon Marketplace at Crystal River Mall; Pack-N-Post, 650 SE Paradise Point Road, Crystal River; the SHARE Club office at Citrus Memorial Hospital, Inverness; and the Rock Crusher Canyon box office, 275 S Rock Crusher Road, Crystal River. Tickets will be $25 at the door on the day of the show.

ALZHEIMER'S RALLY: The second annual Rock 'n Roll Rally to Remember, sponsored by the Alzheimer Family Organization, will be from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Plantation Inn, U.S. 19 and Fort Island Trail, Crystal River. The event features people using rocking chairs to raise funds for local Alzheimer's patients. The event includes a decorated rocking chair rock-a-thon, raffles, an arts and crafts show, food and entertainment. BIG BAND: The 42nd Street Band will be featured at the 16th annual Big Band Concert sponsored by the Kiwanis Club of Homosassa Springs. Shows will be at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Feb. 16 at Curtis Peterson Auditorium at Lecanto High. The concert will feature the music of Harry James and patriotic songs. Guest performers will include trumpet player Bill White, a Louis Armstrong tribute artist, and singer Lisa Donovan, singing the hits of Judy Garland. Tickets are $12 in advance or $14 at the door. BEVERLY HILLS: The Knights of Columbus Abbott Francis Sadlier Council 6168 will host its 10th annual "Salute to the Irish" at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 22 at Curtis Peterson Auditorium at Lecanto High. The featured entertainer will be Noel Kingston, accompanied by Eamon O'Connor and Hillary O'Leary. Also performing will be Irish dancers from Tir Na Greine School of Irish Dance in Ocala. McLEAN MUSIC: The Will McLean Music Festival will be March 9 and 10 at Sertoma Youth Ranch in southeastern Hernando County.
