Several record a 700 seriesBy FRANK PASTOR© St. Petersburg Times published February 6, 2002 Stan Boissanault led five bowlers who rolled a 700 series in Kevin's Pro Shop League on Jan. 30 at Spring Hill Lanes. Boissanault sandwiched two 247 scores around a 226 game for a 720 series. Glenn Poor had the high game (262), along with 238 and 217 performances for a 717 series. Glen Phillips built a 714 series with 234, 258 and 222 games. Terry Hartle (706) and Duane Woods (701) also had 700-plus pin totals. A FIRST: Kay Metzgar was the first woman to bowl a 700 series this year at Spring Hill Lanes. Metzgar, a lanes employee, rolled 216, 269, 227 for a 712 in the S&W Thursday Night Mixed League. Among men, Bones Emond had the high game (232) and Jimmy Robinson the high series (649). PERFECT GAME: Ed Matrone logged a 300 in the SunTrust League on Nov. 24 at Spring Hill Lanes. He also had games of 197 and 222 for a 719 series. NOTEWORTHY: Other top scores at Spring Hill Lanes: Scott Beach rolled the high game (269) and John Zuidema Jr. the high series (713) in the Joni Match Point League. Alice Rose had the high women's game (232) and series (611). Jan Bonczek bowled the high game (203) and Ginger Phillips the high series (574) for the Monday Night Ladies. Joe Meurant edged Dom Carini for high game (235-233) in the Knights of Columbus No. 11317 League. Carini had the high series (630). Vince Federico swept the high game (220) and series (578) in the Knights of Columbus District No. 22 League. Michael Morrison had the high game (243) and series (658) for the Wednesday Night Mixers. Pam Hoppe's 225 game and 619 series topped the women. Jeremy Storms bowled the high game (255) and Pat Zupo the high series (697) in the T.G.I.F. League. Pam Quinn's 204 game and Dana Cottrell's 559 series were tops among women. Pete Pruginic rolled the high game (242) and series (662) for the Friday Senior Men. Scott Muehinickel had the high game of 266 but fell three pins short of Todd Jufko's 673 series in the Friday Prime Time Mixed League. Dee Eddy had high game (206) and Lynda Karczewski high series (518) for the women.
