WHERE: Lecanto High School.

TEAMS: Leesburg (5-1 district), Central (3-3), Lecanto (3-3), Springstead (1-5).

SCHEDULE: Thursday -- Leesburg vs. Springstead, 6 p.m.; Lecanto vs. Central, 7:30. Saturday -- Final, 7:30 p.m.

THE SKINNY: Want thrills? How about Thursday night's semifinal between Central and Lecanto. Not only were their two regular-season meetings -- which they split -- decided by a total of six points, but the Panthers beat the Bears by two in last year's district tourney. Springstead's 36-31 victory over Leesburg on Jan. 21 gave the Eagles their only district win and the Yellow Jackets their lone district loss. But Leesburg was without top player Jasmine Patterson, who had a death in the family. With Patterson, Leesburg beat Springstead 60-39 on Dec. 11.
