About 40,000 to 50,000 people are expected to flock to Ybor City Saturday for the 56th annual Fiesta Day. The free event, which will last from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., will feature food, entertainment and activities that celebrate the cultures of Ybor.

The International Food Fair will include more than 60 food vendors, offering Cajun, Spanish, Asian, Greek and Italian fare. And keeping with tradition, the Columbia Restaurant will be serving up its giant paella.

There will be free samples of Spanish bean soup, Cuban bread and cafe con leche.

In Centennial Park, kids can learn dance routines and have their faces painted. Other activities for children include a climbing wall, swings, a bounce tent and a duck pond. A music stage will offer entertainment until 3 p.m.

The arts and crafts show and the Ybor City Fresh Market will surround the children's area. The art show expects at least 100 vendors selling jewelry, candles, stained glass, paintings and cigar box purses. The art show and market continue from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. In addition to the stage in the park, there will be four other stages: three on Seventh Avenue featuring American, Spanish and international music and one on Eighth Avenue featuring Tropic Heat, a local group that plays island music with a Latin flair. There will also be a swing dance group and an antique and classic car show on E Seventh Avenue.

This year, Centro Ybor at 1600 E Eighth Ave. gets in on the fiesta by offering flamenco and Spanish dancers, steel drums and saxophone players.

At 4 p.m., the International Parade of Flags begins at 15th Street and Seventh Avenue and heads down Seventh to Centennial Park. The parade will feature marching bands and flags from several countries, including 100 children waving American flags.

HARTline will provide a free shuttle to and from Ybor City with pickups in front of the Florida Aquarium on Channelside. The shuttle will run every 20 minutes from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday.
