Beyond Tampa Bay

"Capturing Nureyev: James Wyeth Paints the Dancer," paintings and drawings by James Browning Wyeth -- with photographs, costumes and designs -- debuts at the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., to coincide with the first of 10 visits to the center by the Kirov Ballet, now through March 10. "Contemporary Folk Art: Treasures from the Smithsonian American Art Museum," showcases paintings and sculptures by self-taught artists, part of the Smithsonian's Treasures to Go exhibition tour, Feb. 16 through April 13, at the High Museum of Art, Atlanta. (404) 733-4444.

Fame game

Local artists Fred Szabries, Milt Rochman, Shawn Arnow and E.W. Lewis exhibit their work at Artexpo New York 2002, Feb. 28-March 4 at Manhattan's Jacob Javits Center. With more than 600 exhibitors, ArtExpo is one of be the largest art expositions in the world.
