The Rev. Eugene Taylor Sutton, canon for spiritual formation and director of the Cathedral Center for Prayer and Pilgrimage at Washington National Cathedral, will lead an evening chapel service at 7:30 p.m. today at Griffin Chapel. Sutton is an Episcopal priest and a leader of ecumenical retreats and conferences throughout the country. His sermon is titled "From Love to Justice: A Force More Powerful." The service is the first of a series of events celebrating Black History Month.

The Tampa Convention Center will host the Tampa National College Fair from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. today. Students and parents can meet with admission representatives from 140 national and international, public and private, two- and four-year colleges and universities, more than 30 from Florida. Four workshops will be offered: "The ABCs of the Admission Process" at 2 and 4 p.m.; "Testing . . . testing" and "Financial Aid," each at 1 and 2 p.m.; and "So What Is College REALLY Like?" at noon and 1 p.m. For information, visit the National Association for College Admission Counseling Web site at www.nacac.com or call 864-8297.

  • Second Annual Black Heritage Gospel Explosion, 5 p.m. today at Cooper Hall, Room 103.
  • Black Comedy Tour, 8 p.m. Monday at the Special Events Center.
  • African-American Health Fair, 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at the Martin Luther King Jr. Plaza.
  • The Golden Renaissance Ball, 8 p.m. Thursday at the Marshall Center Ballroom.
  • Lecture: Lawrence Ross, author of Divine Nine, speaks on History of African-American Fraternities and Sororities, 7 p.m. Friday at the Special Events Center.
