Students' plays to open on Little Theater stage

St. Petersburg High School's Little Theater will present Winter One Acts, a series of nine student-directed plays, at 7 p.m. Tuesday through Feb. 22 at the school, 2501 Fifth Ave. N. Tickets are $5 for adults and $4 for students. International Thespian Society members will be admitted free.

Course offers help with SAT preparations

St. Petersburg College is offering SAT preparation classes at its Clearwater, Seminole and Allstate Center campuses from 9 a.m. until noon on Saturdays between Feb. 23 and April 27. The course costs $119.

Additional classes will be held from March 5 to May 4 at three north county high schools. They will run from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at Countryside and East Lake high schools and from 2:30 to 4:30 p.m. on Mondays and Thursdays at Palm Harbor University High School. The course costs $129.

The classes use a curriculum that combines math and verbal review and features remedial exercises, review questions and test-taking strategies. Course fees include textbook.

County PTA council plans general meeting

The Pinellas County Council of Parent Teacher Associations will hold a general meeting at 7 p.m. Feb. 21 in the administration building, 301 Fourth St. SW, Largo. Superintendent Howard Hinesley is the scheduled guest speaker.
