SATURDAY: The New Age South American musical group Mallku will perform at 2 p.m. at the Pasco-Hernando Community College Performing Arts Center, 10230 Ridge Road, New Port Richey. SATURDAY: Actor/scholar Joan Wolfberg will perform Meet Eleanor Roosevelt at 2 p.m. at Hudson Regional Library, 8012 Library Road, Hudson. A discussion, in which Ms. Wolfberg answers questions both in the Eleanor Roosevelt character and as a scholar, will follow the performance. The show is sponsored by the Florida Humanities Council and is free.
SATURDAY: The Aripeka Elks Lodge No. 2520 will present Rob Prospect in A Tribute to Tom Jones at a dinner show at the lodge, 9135 Denton Ave., Hudson. Prospect has performed his impersonation of the singer in Las Vegas and in tours. Dinner is at 6 p.m., show at 7:30 p.m. Dinner and show, $19, reserved seating. SUNDAY: The First United Methodist Church of Hudson will present Festival of Choirs at 4 p.m. featuring choirs from Faith United, First United Methodist Church of New Port Richey, St. Mark's Presbyterian Church and First United Methodist Church of Hudson. Each choir will sing two selections; then the combined choirs will sing together. Seating is first-come, first-seated. Admission is free, but an offering will be accepted.
MONDAY-FEB. 24: The 55th annual Pasco County Fair will be held in Dade City. Hours are 3 to 11 p.m. Monday-Thursday; 3-11:30 p.m. Feb. 22; 10 a.m.-midnight, Feb. 23; and noon-7 p.m. Feb. 24. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for ages 6-12. Parking is free. Events include daily entertainment in Dan Cannon Auditorium, a horticultural exhibit, an art show, livestock show, plant show, the Miss Heart of Florida Pageant at 8 p.m. on Feb. 22, preceded by the talent contest at 6 p.m., and the the Back Porch baked goods and craft show. The fairgrounds are off State Road 52 just west of Dade City.
TUESDAY: Country singer Evan Daniels will headline the show for Seniors Are Someone Special "Sassy" Day from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Gulf View Mall. Also performing are Wayne Lucas and Katie Donahue. Other events go from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission is free.
TUESDAY: The Centennial Opera Group will study composer Richard Strauss at the Centennial Library, 5740 Moog Road, Holiday. The program is at 12:30 p.m. and includes a discussion of Strauss' life and listening to a chronological audio of his orchestral works. The program concludes with a video of his one-act opera Salome, featuring Catherine Malfitano in the title role.
TODAY-MARCH 30: Oil paintings by the Florida Highwaymen are on exhibit at Brooksville City Hall, 201 Howell Ave. (one block north of the Hernando County Courthouse), Brooksville. The 26 paintings were done from the early 1950s through the mid 1970s and were sold by the roadside to tourists. Viewing hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
TODAY-MARCH 16: An exhibit by fabric artist June Colburn continues at Tarpon Springs Cultural Center, 100 Alt. 19, Tarpon Springs. Ms. Colburn works with vintage Japanese silks and modern fabrics. Exhibition hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays. Admission is free.
TODAY-SUNDAY: An Evening with Irving Berlin, a musical revue featuring Irv Clark, Pam Surbaugh, Richard Flury and Shirley Button in a cast of 30 costumed singers, will be at Stage West Community Playhouse, 8390 Forest Oaks Blvd., Spring Hill. SATURDAY: The Rosstyn Ice Show will perform "Broadway on Ice" at 2 and 8 p.m. at Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center, 324 Pine St., Tarpon Springs. The glitzy ice show is a first for the center. Rehearsals begin March 18; performances are Wednesdays through Sundays, April 5-May 12. Those who audition should bring a resume, photo, sheet music and be prepared to sing, dance and read. MONDAY-TUESDAY: The Angel Cabaret Theatre will hold auditions for the musicals Grease and Bravo, Broadway and the plays You Know I Can't Hear You When the Water Is Running and The Odd Couple Female Version at 7 p.m. Monday for adults ages 18-70 and at 7 p.m. Tuesday for teens 13-17. The theater is at 5201 U.S. 19 (Southgate Shopping Center), New Port Richey. Those who audition for the musicals should bring sheet music, dance shoes, photo and resume. Those auditioning for plays should bring resumes and photos. Play dates are weekends May 24-Oct. 20. All physical and ethnic types are invited to audition.
