THE HERNANDO AUDUBON SOCIETY, a chapter of the Florida and National Audubon Society, meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at Brooksville Community Hall, 205 East Ft. Dade Ave. Membership is open to all. For information, call Jeanne Brown, (352) 754-5186.

THE WEST PASCO AUDUBON SOCIETY, a chapter of the Florida and National Audubon Society, meets on the second Thursday of each month (except for April, July and August) at 7:30 p.m. at Community Congregational Church, 6533 Circle Blvd. in downtown New Port Richey. The meetings are free and open to all, and deal with educational subjects such as birds, nature and conservation. For information, call Ken Tracey, (727) 372-9640.

THE SUNCOUNTRY COUPLES BASS CLUB has a tournament and meeting the last Saturday of each month from September-November and January-June. The annual fee is $15, and the tournament cost is $25 per boat of one male and one female. For information, call (352) 683-9227 or (813) 585-5661.

THE HERNANDO AREA BOAT CLUB, organized to promote safe boating, meets on the first and third Wednesday of every month at Aripeka Community Center on Osawa Boulevard (S.R. 595). For information, call (352) 666-1725.

THE MEADOWCREST BOAT AND FISH CLUB meets at noon the first Thursday of every month at J's Country Kitchen, 1960 NW Hwy 19, Crystal River. For information, call (352) 563-0908.

THE PASCO CHAPTER OF THE COASTAL CONSERVATION ASSOCIATION meets at 6:30 p.m. the second Tuesday of each month at the Red Cross building at Ridge Road and Congress Avenue in Port Richey. Meetings are free and open to everyone. Call (727) 861-1500.

THE HERNANDO SPORTSMAN'S CLUB, a family oriented shooting club, meets the first Tuesday of the month at 7:30 p.m. at the range west of U.S. 19, 9.5 miles north of State Road 50. The range is open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday, as well as 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Call (904) 597-9931. Weekend events -- Tonight

AUTO RACING: The Citrus County Speedway program will consist of short-track stock car racing in Late Model, Sportsman, Street Stock, Hobby Stock and Thunder Stock classes, as well as a 40-lap Mini Stock feature. The quarter-mile track is 2 miles south of Inverness off U.S. 41 at the fairgrounds. Gates open at 4 p.m., and the first heat race is at 6:30. Admission is $12 for adults, $8 for seniors and students to age 17, $6 for children 6-12, $2 for children under 42 inches, and $20 for pits.
