Woman killed, man seriously injured in Shady Hills crashBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published February 17, 2002 SHADY HILLS -- A 19-year-old woman was killed and a 28-year-old man was seriously injured Friday night when their car skidded across Shady Hills Road, crashed through a fence and hit a tree, Florida Highway Patrol troopers said. Jennifer Amy Fallon, whose most recent available address is 8183 Allen Drive in Brooksville, died at the crash scene, near Crela Drive, troopers said. She was riding in the passenger seat and was not wearing a seat belt. Richard Anthony Demartino, whose most recent available address is 2739 Gall Blvd. in Zephyrhills, was flown to Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg. He was driving and also was not wearing a seat belt, troopers said. A hospital spokeswoman said he was in serious condition Saturday. That means his vital signs may be unstable, he is acutely ill and his health indicators are questionable. Troopers said Demartino had been drinking and was speeding south on Shady Hills Road about 8:40 p.m. when he lost control of his 1997 Ford Crown Victoria. After plunging through the wooden fence, the passenger side of the car hit a tree, troopers said. The accident was still under investigation Saturday. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • Tampa Bay Times
