LARGO -- A 39-year-old man was killed Saturday evening in an apparent accidental shooting in his apartment, police said.
The man's name was not released Saturday because authorities were still trying to notify his family. He was shot shortly after 6 p.m. at 241 Glades Circle in the Grandview Apartments, a large apartment complex off Ulmerton Road just west of 66th Street.
The wounded man was flown by helicopter to Bayfront Medical Center, but he did not survive.
Police thought the shooting was an accident, but it remained under investigation late Saturday.
