A dean's list model from GulfportBy MARK ALBRIGHT, Times Staff Writer© St. Petersburg Times published February 18, 2002 The Hornsleths, who are well into their 50s, seem an unlikely couple to drop everything and drive 25 miles to the nearest Abercrombie & Fitch in Tampa. "We're proud parents," says Poul, who runs R.W Caldwell Realty in Gulfport with his wife, April. "Our neighbors told us the picture of our daughter on the wall at Abercrombie & Fitch would knock our socks off. So we just had to get there before closing." The 6-foot by 8-foot black and white poster in the women's department at International Plaza and 307 other A&F stores nationally is the latest exposure for their daughter, a Columbia University sophomore known in her modeling career as Jody DuFour. The poster is the in-store part of a lifestyle ad campaign A&F is running through March in its catalog and Web site (www.abercrombie.com). The Hornsleths previously have spotted their daughter in Target store posters and newspaper inserts; a Chips Ahoy commercial; on the cover of Your Prom magazine; and in fashion spreads in Seventeen and Cosmopolitan. She also has worked in projects for Macy's, Loreal, Prada and the teen fashion catalog Alloy. "Jody's a fifth-generation Gulfport resident. She made the dean's list," Hornsleth said. "But this term she's taking off from school for modeling assignments in Milan, Paris, New York and the Virgin Islands." © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • St. Petersburg Times
