Struggling Adam Boone scores 28 as North Carolina snaps a five-game losing streak with a 95-85 victory.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. -- This was a game to remember for Adam Boone.
Boone, who has struggled at times this season, scored a career-high 28 as North Carolina ended a five-game losing streak with a 95-85 victory over Florida State on Sunday.
Boone, who made 4 of 11 3-pointers in his past five games, was 6-for-9 against the Seminoles. He also had six assists and one turnover in 35 minutes.
"I think I just took advantage of my opportunities today," Boone said. "I try to do that every game but I just had a lot more opportunities to hit the shots."
North Carolina shot 54 percent and scored on 14 of its final 15 possessions. The Tar Heels shot 16-for-24 and had five turnovers in the second half.
FSU, coming off a one-week layoff, lost its sixth straight. The Seminoles shot 54 percent but had 19 turnovers.
"Every time we tried to make a little bit of a run or had a chance to build on (a lead), they had some guys to step up and really make some tremendous shots and plays," FSU coach Steve Robinson said. "We didn't play bad. We shot over 50 percent from the floor and did a decent job of taking care of the basketball."
Kris Lang had 21 points for North Carolina, and Jason Capel added 20 points and eight rebounds. Melvin Scott made all five of his shots and scored 13.
The Tar Heels were 10-of-20 from 3-point range.
"Obviously we are still hustling and obviously our attitude is still pretty good," North Carolina coach Matt Doherty said. "I really admire the character of our players."
Monte Cummings, who entered in a 1-for-13 slump, was 11-for-16 and had 28 points for FSU. Antwuan Dixon added 14 points, and Michael Joiner, Nigel Dixon and Delvon Arrington had 12 each.
North Carolina went up 25-17 after a short jumper by Brian Bersticker with 9:17 left in the first half, but FSU followed with a 13-3 run. The Seminoles pushed the lead to 43-36 on a 3-pointer by Arrington with 1:20 left for their biggest lead of the game.
