Keystone Little League celebrates first season

KEYSTONE -- Keystone Little League opens its inaugural season with games and festivities at Ed Radice Complex on Saturday.

The ceremonial opening starts at 9 a.m. at the fields on S Mobley Road, about 2 miles west of Gunn Highway.

Scheduled festivities include a fan fest, field activities and games. Ed Radice, director of the Hillsborough County Parks and Recreation Department, also will be there. Ball games begin at 1 p.m.

Club Tampa Palms signing up soccer players

TAMPA PALMS -- Club Tampa Palms is holding registration for two spring soccer programs.

Signups for youth spring soccer for boys and girls ages 4-9 begin Saturday and run through March 23. Cost is $30 for members, $45 for guests. Teams will hold one weekly evening practice and games will be played on Saturdays, April 20 through May 25.

Registration for the adult coed soccer runs through March 23. Cost is $20 for members, $35 for guests. Sign up individually or as a team. Games will be played on Wednesday and Thursday nights for six weeks, beginning April 24.

Town 'N Country leagues looking for players

TOWN 'N COUNTRY -- Three neighborhood leagues are looking for players.

Town 'N Country Recreational Center is forming a league for girls basketball players ages 8 to 15. For information, call 903-2247.

A softball league for players over 50 is seeking participants. Anyone interested is asked to attend practices at 7 p.m. Thursdays at Garvey Field on Rome Avenue at Sligh Avenue. Call 878-3149 for details.

The Leagurettes slow-pitch softball team is holding open registration for girls ages 5 to 17. For information, call 855-0170 or 269-8479.
