Asian market offers food from around the worldFirst International Asian Gifts & Grocery opened recently at 14420 N Dale Mabry Highway, next to the Tampa Pitcher Show theater. The market's shelves are overflowing with foods and specialty items from around the world. Owner Elkie Hng said the store will carry a full line of products from China, Japan, Korea, Laos, India and Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. It carries fresh and frozen foods, several varieties of ginseng, Chinese herbs and baked goods. A grand opening is set for March 2. Store hours are 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. seven days a week. The 6,200 square foot store, 12757 N Dale Mabry Highway, was near Kmart in the Mission Bell plaza. Health food store finishes expansionAbby's Health Food Inc., 14374 N Dale Mabry Highway, has finished construction in the Shoppes of Carrollwood plaza after adding an extra 2,000 square feet to its store. This space will give customers triple the amount of organic produce along with a larger bulk foods section of granola, nuts, rice, beans and dry and frozen foods. For information, call 265-4951. Seafood restaurant opens MondayAfter three months of renovation to the former Bennigan's restaurant, Bonefish Grill is opening Monday at 13262 N Dale Mabry Highway. This specialty seafood restaurant offers eight to 10 varieties of fresh fish cooked on a wood burning grill along with steak, chicken and pasta. The restaurant is in the Village Center plaza next to Panera Bread. Hours are 4 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday; 4 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Sunday. Other Bonefish Grill restaurants are located in St. Petersburg, Sarasota, Clearwater and South Tampa. Carryout is available.
