Hernando's Bernice Mosby is among 100 finalists for the inaugural McDonald's All-American High School Girls Basketball Game.

Mosby, a 6-foot-1 senior forward/center, recently completed her prep career as the only 2,000-point scorer in team history.

The University of Florida signee is among five finalists from Florida. She joins Brittany Davis of Gainesville Bucholz, Lawona Davis of Port St. Lucie Centennial, Dailia Esche of Tallahassee Florida and Tamara James of Hollywood South Broward.

The McDonald's game has showcased the nation's top boys annually since its inception in 1977. This year, a girls game has been added to help commemorate the event's 25th anniversary.

Both games will be played April 4 at Madison Square Garden, home of the NBA's New York Knicks and WNBA's New York Liberty.

A selection committee consisting of high school analysts, prep scouts, newspaper reporters and coaches and chaired by coach Morgan Wootten of DeMatha High in Hyattsville, Md., submitted an initial list of names to Sports America, Inc., which founded the game.

After four rounds of balloting, the list will be pared to 20 players. An announcement is expected in a few days.
