A pair of California redesigners will be in the Tampa Bay area March 23 to teach people how to give their homes a new look in a single day, using the furniture and accessories they already have.

Pam Smith and Marsha Smart, who operate a business called Ready2Redesign, will offer their one-day class at the Scottsdale recreation clubhouse, 1154 Montrose Place in Dunedin.

The class, titled "The 12 Most Common Decorating Dilemmas and How to Solve Them," is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Students will get a workbook, see a video, do some hands-on redesigning and enjoy a catered lunch. Cost of the workshop is $125. Group rates are available.

"There are lots of people who want a professional look but can't afford to pay thousands and thousands and thousands of dollars to throw everything out and start over," Smart said. The workshop teaches participants how to accessorize rooms, display collections and use color. "Even if you live in an apartment you can do this."

Ready2Redesign has been featured on two episodes of Decorating Cents on HGTV.

The two are also offering a five-day training course for those who want to become professional redesigners. That class meets from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. March 18-22 and costs $2,500.

For information, visit the Web site at www.ready2redesign.com or e-mail info@ready2redesign.com. Before Tuesday, Smart can be reached by phone at (805) 241-7997. After Wednesday, she can be reached at (727) 733-5233.
