Stay home, or revisit painBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published March 10, 2002 On March 2, 2001, Miqucalena Zorbas' only two children were killed in a car wreck at State Road 54 and Old County Road 54. The 37-year-old single mother narrowly survived. She spent the first year after the crash fearing that if she put the tragedy in perspective, it would drive her insane. She refused to return to the scene of the quadruple fatal wreck. She would talk about Robert, 13, top photo, and Anthony, 10, in the present tense. On the accident's first anniversary, her friends planned a candlelight vigil in memory of the dead. If she wanted to go, she had to return to the intersection. As the day grew closer, she faced a decision: Hold a candle in memory of her boys or stay at home among their pictures and stuffed animals. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • Tampa Bay Times
