School Calendar

Friday is Teacher Planning Day, holiday for students.

Spring vacation is March 25 to 29.

Centennial Elementary: Volunteer Appreciation event, 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the cafeteria. Advisory Council meeting, 6:30 p.m. March 21. Field Day, March 22.

Denham Oaks Elementary: Dad's Club meeting, 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the media center. Advisory Council meeting, 6 p.m. March 21. Dad's Club Second Annual Golf Tournament, 1:30 p.m. April 6. Deadline to enter is March 15. Cost is $75 per player and includes golf with cart, range balls, box lunch, barbequed dinner, door prizes and a hole-in-one contest. Lacoochee Elementary: Advisory Council meeting, March 21. Parents are encouraged to check out the school Web site (http://les.pasco.k12.fl.us) for upcoming school events and teacher resources.

Lake Myrtle Elementary: Advisory Council meeting, 7:30 a.m. Friday. Pre-K Parent Workshop, 3 to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. Field Day is March 22. Applications are being taken for the Pre-K Program for 3- and 4-year-old children for the 2002-2003 school year. For information, call Mary Frase at 794-1000 on Mondays or Tuesdays.

Pasco High: Registrations are being taken for the SAT and PSAT preparation classes to be held in April. Interested students may see Robin Futch or Robert Jordan.

Sand Pine Elementary: Three teams of faculty and staff will participate in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life Walk. Sixty percent of the money raised by these teams will benefit the local community and 40 percent will go to national research. Collection containers will be set up in each pod and in the front office. Cash and checks (made out to the American Cancer Society) will be accepted through March 22.

Chester Taylor Elementary: Picture Day is March 21. Jump Rope for Heart, March 21. Volunteer Luncheon, March 22.

BRIEFS

March 29 is the regular deadline to register for the SAT to be administered on May 4. Cost is $25. Interested students should see their guidance counselor for a registration packet or register online at www.collegeboard.com.

River Ridge Drama presents, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe at 7 p.m. April 5 and 2 and 7 p.m. April 6 at the Center for the Arts at River Ridge Middle/High School, 11646 Town Center Road, New Port Richey. This play, an adaptation of the C.S. Lewis classic by award-winning playwright Joseph Robinette is recommended for ages 7 and up. Tickets are $4. For information, call (727) 774-7386.
