Scholarship opportunitiesBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published March 14, 2002 AAUW SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY: The Citrus Branch of the American Association of University Women has funded an educational endowment with Central Florida Community College. Collegebound high school seniors or graduates whose college careers have been interrupted may apply. To obtain an application, call 726-6479. Deadline is Friday. SECO ANNOUNCES 2002 SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM: Up to twelve high school seniors from Sumter Electric Cooperative's service territory (Marion, Citrus, Lake, Sumter, Pasco, Levy and Hernando counties) will receive scholarships from the Co-op this year. Students chosen to receive a SECO Youth Scholarship this year will receive $1,000. To qualify, graduates must reside in a home served by SECO and be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or vocational/technical school by the end of 2002. Selection will be based on past and present achievements in school and the community, financial need and scholastic record. Application forms are available now at all SECO offices and guidance offices of area high schools. Deadline is March 29.
