Suit: McDonald's ejected blind manBy Times staff writer© St. Petersburg Times published March 14, 2002 TAMPA -- A blind Port Richey man is suing McDonald's, alleging that a manager at one of its restaurants yelled at him and ordered him and his guide dog to leave. In a lawsuit filed Wednesday in Hillsborough Circuit Court, Andrew Irizarry said he, his wife and the dog walked into the McDonald's at 7909 W Hillsborough Ave. in Tampa on Jan. 7. A manager at the restaurant told Irizarry he couldn't come inside with the dog, and when Irizarry said the dog was not a pet, the manager told him out of the restaurant, according to the lawsuit. Irizarry said he felt embarrassed when other customers laughed at him. The lawsuit alleges that the restaurant violated state law. © 2006 • All Rights Reserved • Tampa Bay Times
