Alliance challenges condos
INVERNESS -- The Save the Homosassa River Alliance filed challenges Thursday to the County Commission's approval of the Halls River Retreat condominium project. The two challenges allege the commission failed to follow proper procedures during its Feb. 12 hearing and violated the county's Comprehensive Plan by approving the 54-unit time share complex. Those challenges echo similar complaints filed Wednesday by Protect Our Waterways, an ad hoc group fighting the condo project. The county will fight both challenges in circuit court.
Fungal spores register high
LECANTO -- The Citrus County Health Department on Thursday reported tree pollens were moderate, fungal spores high and grass and weed pollens low.
