Special tax district hires new manager
By LOGAN D. MABE, Times Staff Writer NORTHDALE -- The Northdale Special Tax District will soon have a full-time administrator, after voting to hire Richard Pitrowski, president of Communities of American Inc. Pitrowski was the sole bidder for the annual contract after former administrator Diane Montgomery left the job in December for health reasons. In the interim, the job has been done by Donald Moses, who will continue his duties until the end of March. Pitrowski, who also manages special tax districts at Logan Gate and Bloomingdale, will begin April 1 and will earn about $32,500 annually. "He's actually a former president of the Bloomingdale tax district, and a former adjuster for USAA (insurance company)," said board president Kevin Ambler. "He does appear to have a suitable and appropriate background in handling issues unique to a taxing district." In other board business, the tax district will soon have a new Web site for residents: www.northdaletd.com is currently under construction and will offer neighborhood news and contacts once it's up and running. Board members also voted to spend $1,500 to replace annuals at the entrances to the community. -- Logan D.
