Agriculture as important to county as it is to fair

Dear Friends:

Dear Friends:

As Florida's Commissioner of Agriculture, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the Citrus County Fair Association, Inc.

In an increasingly urbanized state, agriculture remains one of the pillars of Florida's economy. Florida farmers and ranchers produce farm cash receipts of more than $7-billion annually. The overall economic impact of Florida's agriculture and forest industry is estimated to be more than $53-billion.

Fairs are a recognition of our rich agricultural heritage. Please take time to appreciate the endeavors of youth groups such as 4-H and Future Farmers of America. These exhibitions are the results of many hours of preparation and represent the best that Florida agriculture has to offer.

The Citrus County Fair Association, Inc. is a showcase for our state's fascinating agricultural industry. County Fairs and Livestock Shows are enlightening, exciting and fun. The music, programs, exhibits, rides and games offer entertainment for people of all ages and interests.

The Citrus County Fair Association, Inc. has a long and proud tradition, and I salute the numerous staff and volunteers who help make it a success each year.
-- Sincerely, Charles H. Bronson, Commissioner of Agriculture
