HUDSON -- A 24-year-old man was arrested Friday after he was accused of trying to rape a woman and stab a man, according to Pasco County Sheriff's deputies.

The woman said she met Alex Anthony Carraher last week, according to deputy reports. Early Friday when she tried to leave Miller's Pub at 12400 Ramfis Road, he confronted her in the parking lot, deputies said.

According to deputy reports, she gave the following account:

She hadn't spoken to Carraher all night until he cornered her in the parking lot, pulled his pants down and pulled down her pants. She screamed "no" several times.

She repeatedly punched him in the face, but he wouldn't stop until she kicked him in the groin. When he did, he sprayed her in the face with pepper spray and left.

Deputies said he also sprayed a man who is a friend of the woman.

They said Carraher fled to a nearby 7-Eleven, where he got into a fight with another man and stabbed him in the leg with a 4-inch knife. The man held Carraher until deputies arrived.

The stabbing victim, Oscar Hill, was taken to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point, where he was treated and released, deputies said.

Carraher of 13913 Margo Ave. in Hudson was arrested and faces charges of attempted sexual battery, aggravated battery, introduction of contraband into jail and two counts of simple battery, deputies said. He also faces drug, traffic and battery charges stemming from arrest warrants in Pasco and Hernando counties, deputies said.

Carraher was being held Saturday at the Land O'Lakes jail in lieu of $30,750 bail, deputies said.
