Eckerd College

Eckerd College Search and Rescue (EC-SAR) will hold its annual Marine Yard Sale from 9 a.m.-noon Saturday at the Eckerd College Waterfront. EC-SAR is a group of trained volunteer students and alumni who provide maritime search and rescue to the Tampa Bay boating community. Used boats, motors, electronics and various other marine equipment will be for sale at discounted rates. All proceeds will benefit EC-SAR. Call 864-8288 for information.

University of South Florida, St. Petersburg

Christopher Meyers, professor of philosophy and director of the Kegley Institute of Ethics at California State University, Bakersfield, will speak on Why Good Doctors Sometimes Make Bad Choices at 6 p.m. Monday at Davis Hall, Room 130. Meyers will discuss the role institutional politics and health care cultures play in how medical practitioners handle ethical dilemmas. Myers will speak on Being Ethical in a Political Maze at noon Wednesday at the Florida Center for Teachers, Room 118. Reservations are required. Call 553-1579.
