ST. PETERSBURG -- It might be late March, but Pinellas County All-Stars Brett Stone and Monica Adams still have a few moves to display.

Stone, of St. Petersburg Catholic, scored 20 points Saturday and Adams, of Largo, added 18 to help coach Dave Mauger's Blue team defeat the Red team 91-74 in the seventh annual Pinellas County Girl's Senior All-Star Game played at Keswick Christian.

The Blue squad was behind by six at halftime, but the 3-point shooting of Northside Christian's Sara Wallace and the consistent inside-out game of co-MVPs Stone and Adams proved too much for coach Dave Swanson's Red team.

"They got a little lead on us by the half," Stone said, "but we weren't done."

Adams, who squared up against regular-season teammates Andrea Proccacio and Dena Anderson, wasn't about to give anything to her competition -- exhibition or not.

"It could be a game of marbles, but I don't care. I always play to win."

The All-Star game showcased 22 players from 13 county high schools. Since the game is no longer divided between north and south, coaches took turns drafting their squads.

Clearwater's Kasie Muchler and Dixie Hollins' Candace Hollis stared for the Red team, combining for 28 first-half points. But in the second half, the wheels began to turn for the Blue team as it went outscored its opponent 52-29 to steal the lead and win by 17.

Hollis cleared the boards and paced the Red team with 21 points, while Muchler ran the fastbreak and hit from the outside to finish with 20 and earn the game's hustle award.

Following the game, coaching awards were presented to Largo's Leonard Williams for most outstanding turn-around program and Keswick's Karrmayne King for outstanding sportsmanship.
