Dixie Hollins' Kevin Marion and St. Petersburg Catholic's Chris Davis established new standards in the long jump at the Disney Showcase.

Both topped the meet's previous best (23 feet, 1 inch) and took the top two spots in Saturday's invitational at Lake Buena Vista's Wide World of Sports Complex.

The spotlight, though, belonged mostly to Marion, who broke a meet record in his signature event for the second time this week.

He went 24-21/2 to win. The mark broke the meet record by more than a foot and was an inch better than his previous best, set four days earlier during a record-setting performance at the Ed Wells Jr. Kiwanis Invitational.

"I felt pretty good and knew I went far," said Marion, who set the Disney record on his third jump. "But I actually thought I went farther on my second jump (a scratch). I think I might have gone more than 25 feet on that one."

Marion also finished second in the 200 meters and fourth in the 100.

Meanwhile, Davis went 23-2, an inch better than his season-best.

Davis' teammate, Sam Secord, won the 800 and Boca Ciega's Roberto Rodriguez won the high jump. Rodriguez was also a member of the Pirates' runner-up 4x400 relay team. Other second-place finishes were Seminole's Derek Pakus in the pole vault and Dixie Hollins' Marlon Flakes in the 110 hurdles.
