New York, New York: The Photography of Peter B. Kaplan -- The view from high places is Kaplan's specialty. On display are memorable images from New York and new shots from Tampa high-rises and the Sunshine Skyway Bridge. Through June 2, Tampa Gallery of Photographic Arts in Old Hyde Park Village.
African-Americans in 19th and 20th Century Photographs -- The Museum of Fine Arts in St. Petersburg features work dating back to the Civil War and includes famous names such as Dorothea Lange, Richard Avedon and Aaron Siskind. Through April 7.
Faces and Voices: St. Petersburg Up Close -- Commissioned by the Gulf Coast Museum of Art with a grant from the city, this photo-documentary by Herb Snitzer uses portraits of local citizens and their musings to discuss the idea of community. April 5 through May 5, Merrick Gallery, downtown St. Petersburg.
