A woman who told Pasco County sheriff's deputies that she is a media assistant for Pasco County schools was arrested Friday and faces domestic battery charges, according to a deputy's report.
Pearl Janiece Howard, 38, who is listed in the most recent school directory as a media assistant at Thomas E. Weightman Middle School, was arrested after the father of her children suffered scrapes on his face, deputies said.
Patrick Deck, who lives with Howard at 8045 Old Pasco Road, said they started arguing while driving home from Naples, the report states. Howard said she yelled at Deck because he is too hard on their children, the report states.
Deck said he wanted Howard to pull off the road and he tried to grab the steering wheel at least twice, the report states. He told deputies that Howard punched him, threw a cup of Diet Coke on him and bit his forearm.
Howard was being held without bail Saturday morning at the county jail in Land O'Lakes.
