ADVERTISING

J. Osvaldo Laino has received the Silver Medal Award, given by the Tampa Bay Advertising Federation for lifetime achievements and contributions to the industry. Laino is president of Advertising 7 Inc., Tampa.

Mark Brown, owner of Mark Brown Photography, Tampa, received a gold Addy in the category of computer-enhanced photography for an image created for self-promotion.

Joseph Young has been named vice president for Paradigm/Lord& Lasker, Tampa. Young was director of research and business development at Paradigm/Lord+ Lasker, Washington.

Steven Saladino has been named art director for Chenoweth & Faulker Advertising, Tampa. Saladino is a recent graduate of the University of Tampa.

BUSINESS SERVICES

Kathy Hadley, owner of Kathryn Hadley & Associates, Holiday, received the following awards from the Professional Resume Writing and Research Association: second place in best functional resume and best resume content; and certificate of appreciation as Region 5 representative covering Florida and Puerto Rico.

EDUCATION

Darlene L. Kelly has been named director of development and alumni relations at Stetson University College of Law, Gulfport. Kelly was associate director.

FINANCE

Rick Hagan has been elected chairman of the board of directors for GTE Federal Credit Union, Tampa. Hagan is president and chief executive of Ident-A-Kid Services of America Inc., St. Petersburg.

Bennett S. Cole has been named managing director and head of fixed income banking for Raymond James & Associates Inc., St. Petersburg. Cole was a managing director in Wachovia Securities' asset securitization group, Charlotte, N.C.

LEGAL

Howard P. Ross received the Pinellas County C.W. Bill Young Pinnacle Award for leadership in business and civic organizations, selfless service to the community and outstanding moral and ethical principles. Ross is chief executive of Battaglia, Ross, Dicus & Wein, St. Petersburg.

Donald S. Hart Jr. has been elected to the board of trustees of Presbyterian College, Clinton, S.C. Hart is a shareholder in the law firm of Glenn Rasmussen Fogarty & Hooker, Tampa.

Nathaniel L. Doliner has been elected to a four-year term on the Council of the American Bar Association Business Law Section. Doliner is a shareholder in the law firm of Carlton Fields, Tampa.

Scott A. Cole has been named a partner in the law firm of Cole, Scott & Kissane, Tampa and Miami. Cole was a partner in the law firm of Josephs, Jack, Gaebe & Cole, Miami.

INSURANCE

Jim Wareheim has been promoted to district sales coordinator for AFLAC, St. Petersburg. Wareheim was an associate and special project coordinator.

NONPROFIT

Girl Scouts of Suncoast Council, Tampa, announced the following appointments: Susan Al-Abed, community development manager; and Felicia Johnson, communications manager. Al-Abed was vice president of community investment with United Way of Pinellas County; and Johnson was director of community relations for Young Women's Resource Center, Des Moines, Iowa.

Martha L. Chamberlain has been named director of corporate communications for Eckerd Youth Alternatives Inc., Clearwater. Chamberlain was owner of Chamberlain Cowles Communications, Tampa.

PHARMACEUTICAL

Martin Sperber has been named to the board of directors of DrugMax Inc., Largo. Sperber retired as chairman and chief executive of Schein Pharmaceutical Inc., Florham, N.J.

RECRUITING

Anthony N. Linguanti, Jr. has been named to the Class of 2002 of Leadership St. Petersburg. Linguanti is a partner at Taylor White, St. Petersburg.
