Third grade students at Inverness Primary School were asked:

"Why do schools have so many rules?"

JAMES BUDA, 10 "They make so many rules to keep us safe from choking from gum. That's one of the rules here."

CAROLYN COOPER, 9 "They have so many rules so you won't get in trouble. Some rules, such as in P.E., if you don't follow directions, you could get hurt."

CHELSEA LEWIS, 8 "They have so many rules to keep you safe from falling down in the hallway (like) no running in the hallway."

MADISEN POOTON, 9 "We have so many rules because if you don't have rules the schools would be like a jungle with a lot of orangutans."
