The Largo United Wolves under-10 girls team recently captured the Region C Division 1 championship with a 2-1 win against Countryside.

The defense, anchored by Mary-Ann Krlin, Queli Ornelas, Melina Cox-Ferreras, Kaley Blades, Morgan Pyle and goalkeeper Alyssa Doheny, allowed six shots in the final two games and gave up one goal.

Blades and Ornelas scored Largo's goals in the title game.

Football

A free combine, sponsored by Pinellas County coaches, will be held at 1 p.m. May 5 at Clearwater Central Catholic for all high school sophomore and junior players.

Participants will be tested in the 40-yard dash, pro shuttle, vertical jump and 225-pound bench press repetition. Results will be sent to colleges around the country.

Players need not bring pads, but should bring cleats and a copy of their transcript.
