DADE CITY -- A pair of fender benders involving seven vehicles Wednesday afternoon snarled traffic on U.S. 301, but drivers avoided serious injuries, according to the Dade City Fire Department.
Fire Capt. Joey Wubbena said the first crash occurred about 2:40 p.m. as the driver of a northbound van from the Chevrolet of Dade City dealership south of Clinton Avenue tried to turn into the dealership after a test drive.
Two northbound vehicles collided with the van, Wubbena said.
A short time later, motorists in four vehicles driving past the crash collided just north of the scene.
One person complaining of back and neck pain was taken by ambulance to Pasco Regional Medical Center as a precaution, Wubbena said. All other drivers and passengers declined medical attention.
Rescue crews did not have to close the road, but traffic was slowed by the work. The area was cleared up shortly after 3:15 p.m.
Names of the involved drivers were not immediately available. The Florida Highway Patrol was summoned to investigate.
