Boys and girls soccer camps set for summer

KEYSTONE -- Hillsborough County United has scheduled five co-ed soccer camps for players ages 5 through 15.

Camps will be held from 9 a.m. to noon June 3-7, June 10-14, June 24-28, July 8-12 and July 15-19.

Register before May 7 and the cost is $90 per player, per week; $100 after May 7. Cost for groups of eight or more is $75 each.

GOLF FUNDRAISER FOR SCHOOL: Play golf and raise money for the Dads' Club at Northwest Elementary in Odessa.

The school fundraiser gets off to a shotgun start at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Eagles Golf & Country Club, 16101 Nine Eagles Drive.

Check-in for teams of four is noon to 12:45 p.m. Space is limited.

Donations are being accepted for door prizes. Hole sponsorships are available for $100 per hole and will earn a special mention in the program and on the school's Web site.

Cost for the tournament is $70 per person, $280 per foursome.

SCRAMBLE GOLF TOURNAMENT: The Carrollwood Community Bar Association is registering golfers for its April 26 charity scramble golf tournament.

The tournament begins with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. at Northdale Golf and Country Club, 4417 Northdale Blvd. Play will include contests for a hole-in-one, closest to the pin, longest drive, a raffle, silent and live auctions and an evening awards dinner.

Proceeds will benefit the nonprofit All Sports Community Service, which supplies mentors and college scholarships for deserving students. The bar association plans to make the tournament an annual event.

Cost is $75 per golfer, and sponsorships are welcome. For information, call Mike at 879-4789 or Hank at 968-1236.

KIDS' TENNIS CAMP: The Country Club of Carrollwood is registering students for its summer tennis camp, which begins June 3.

The club offers programs for various age groups and experience levels. The tots program provides 4- to 7-year-olds an introduction to tennis. Juniors ages 8-18 work on individual skills and match play. The focus in the advanced juniors program for players 8-18 is on strategy, technical skills and competitive play.

Nine sessions will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. weekdays through Aug. 2. Coach Chris Cary said a perk of the program is the cool-down swim in the club pool at the end of the camp day.

Cost is $120 per weekly session for country club members, $150 for guests. Discounts are available for multiple children and sessions.
