CITRUS HILLS -- School superintendent David Hickey went around the Hampton Room of Andre's of Citrus Hills Friday morning shaking the hand of each 2002 Walt Disney Dreamer and Doer.

Minnie Mouse hugged every child (except a high school boy or two who received high fives). Each of the 19 elementary, middle and high school students was individually recognized in front of proud parents, teachers and administrators.

The students were attending the annual breakfast to celebrate success in achieving the four "C's" -- Courage, Confidence, Constancy and Curiosity -- often overcoming tough odds to do so. This was the day they danced with Minnie and were congratulated for a job well done.

As each student was called forward to be honored, Roberta Dilocker, coordinator of area schools, Central Ridge, and secondary education, read descriptions of the students from their schools.

Marquee Scrivens, a senior from Citrus High School, is an honor roll student and the recipient of a Carpentry Certificate. Nicole Nicodemo, a first-grader at Citrus Springs Elementary School, likes to spend her time doing math, reading books or drawing.

Anthony Adcock, a sixth-grader at Citrus Springs Middle School, is kind-hearted and strives for academic and personal excellence. CREST School's Susan Ann Blythe is a leader in class spirit and in the Special Olympics basketball program. She works two jobs.

Ashley Rhodes-Courter of Crystal River High School has volunteered 126 hours of community service advocating for the adoption of children. Megan Garrett of Crystal River Middle School is a sixth-grader in seventh-grade math who is on the A honor roll.

O'Dell Kenyon of Crystal River Primary School is honest, respectful and well-liked by classmates. He helps anyone who needs him. Floral City Elementary School's Steven Fleisher is a role model to his peers with his excellent attitude, behavior and work ethics.

Taylor Friedhof of Forest Ridge Elementary School tries her best to achieve, works hard in school and is a top student in her class. Hernando Elementary School's Dusty Wessel has received the Key Kid Award, once for kindness and courtesy and once for respect.

Williams Driggers of Homosassa Elementary excels in art and is able to meet and overcome challenges with creative enthusiasm. Oscar Henry Phillips of Inverness Middle School has received the New Vision Scholarship, a two-year tuition-paid scholarship to a community college, and is very enthusiastic in his technology and science classes.

Inverness Primary School's Alyssa Castonguay enjoys music and physical education and is never afraid to try something new. She is blind and is always asking questions about what she feels and hears. She participates in all aspects of the school's curriculum.

Cassandra Reese of Lecanto High School is very active. She is in Key Club and chorus. She volunteers, has received an Upward Bound award and has been Student of the Month.

Neil Aiken of Lecanto Middle School is a hard-working straight A student, determined to be successful. Samantha Peterson of Lecanto Primary School is on her school's safety patrol and a leader in school activities. She is an honor roll student.
