A free course on conflict resolution for board members and unit owners of condos and co-ops will be from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at the Holiday Inn Clearwater Central.
The course will be taught by the Community Associations Institute, the state's designated provider of educational programs for condos and co-ops.
The course will explore the board's role in creating and enforcing rules and how those rules affect unit owners. It will review principles of group interaction, conflict management and communications, and will describe steps owners can take to keep conflict from escalating. Participants will learn about alternatives to litigation for dispute resolution.
